Technology is constantly changing, and here at St. Mary, we are diligently trying to keep up. We are pleased that we can state that SMART boards are in every classroom in the main building. Our teachers use the SMART boards as an aid in their daily lessons.
Each student in grades 1-8 is issued a Chromebook at the start of the school year. Prekindergarten and Kindergarten students are given iPads, which remain in the classrooms.
We always look for new and exciting ways to bring technology into the classrooms. Many teachers have their virtual classroom for easy-to-use links throughout the school day to simplify the process of going to websites.
We are proud of the technology and marketing work that our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders complete. The students were divided into mixed age groups and produced fantastic marketing videos for St. Mary Catholic School. Their work is heartfelt, creative, and technically savvy. These projects emphasize the current best practices in education to integrate technology throughout the curriculum as opposed to teaching technology in a stand alone class. It also is an example of how St. Mary Catholic School has already organically instituted very successful multi-age student work. Below is the student led video created this past school year.
