St. Mary Catholic School in Elgin provides a rigorous academic program for children from preschool through 8th grade.  Our teachers are phenomenal, experienced, and dedicated.  The class sizes are small, so students receive individual attention.  The curriculum includes religion, reading and literature, language arts, vocabulary and spelling, math, science, and social studies.  Students from preschool through 8th grade also participate weekly in music, art, technology, and physical education classes.

Religion is incorporated into all of our daily activities.  We pray together as a school in our morning assembly and before lunch and dismissal.  Children attend weekly school Mass and Eucharistic Adoration.  Students participate actively in our school Masses by reading, singing, and bringing up the offertory gifts.  Our religion program includes preparation and reception of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in second grade and Confirmation in eighth grade.  Students who have already received their First Reconciliation during Advent and Lent can go to confession.  Students that enter our school who have not received sacraments have the option of receiving sacramental preparation through our Religious Education program.

Students learn to live out the Gospel message at St. Mary Catholic School daily through their words and actions.  In addition, we participate in many service projects throughout the year.  This gives students and their families an opportunity to give back to the community.

St. Mary Catholic School…A Catholic community growing in Christ!
